What you need to know about Gartner's 2016 File Sync & Share Magic Quadrant

Blog Post created by Jim Ash on Aug 15, 2016

Gartner has released their 2016 Magic Quadrant for the File Sync & Share report and HCP Anywhere does NOT appear in the quadrant!

What & why!?!?

The good news… the reason for not being included has nothing to do with Anywhere’s features and capabilities.

The bad news… Anywhere doesn’t fit in to Gartner’s definition of a File Sync & Share product.

You see, Gartner defines FSS products as “the product must be available as a separately billed, stand-alone product. And Anywhere is NOT a separately billed, stand-along product (it requires HCP in order to work). So we missed out on this segment because of a technicality and definition of the segment. FYI, Gartner defines Anywhere as an “Extension Product” of our core HCP solution.

When partners and/or customers ask about why Anywhere is not included in the most recent report, let them know that Gartner limits inclusivity of solutions to “stand alone, separately billed” products and not “Extension Products”.
