Having just returned home from the HDS Global Systems Integrator Executive Summit, I am reflecting back on all of the great speakers, open discussions and partnership alignment that happened over the three days. We had over 70 Global Systems Integrator (GSI) partner participants together with HDS and our technology partners in Scottsdale, AZ. It was a packed agenda covering topics that are top of mind for all enterprises and their IT shops. Discussions included market trends we are seeing in Cloud, Big Data, Converged Infrastructure, Vertical Markets and much more!
We had David Tapper, IDC's VP of Outsourcing and Offshore Services talk about "How the Third Platform Will Drive Fundamental Changes in Buyer Needs and the Service Delivery Ecosystem." Dan Vesset, IDC's VP of Business Analytics presented on "The Real Big Data and Analytics Opportunities for 2014." Our technology partners jumped into the mix with Cisco presenting on "The Internet of Things," CommVault discussing "Modern Data Management," Intel reviewing "Creating a Converged Infrastructure for Data Center as a System," Brocade talking about the "(R)evolution in Data Center Networking," and Symantec highlighting the importance of "Information Governance."
A number of HDS Executives held a "Fireside Chat" to discuss how we can get even better alignment with our GSI partners and talk about where we are going together in the future to continue Innovation in Motion! HDS Executives also explored a variety of market drivers that are defining how enterprises are reacting to shifting requirements, the team of presenters including Brian Householder (COO), Rex Carter (CIO), Michael Cremen (EVP of Global Sales), Michael Hay (CTO of Strategic Product Planning), Kevin Eggleston (SVP of Vertical Markets), Mike Walkey (SVP of Global Channels) and Jeff Henry (SVP, GM of Americas Sales).
We highlighted many of the powerful solution offerings from HDS and our technology partners in our Solutions Café booths, demonstrating Big Data and Analytics, Cloud, Mobility, Communications, Media and Entertainment solutions, Healthcare and Life Sciences solutions and Data Center Economics. Brocade, Cisco, CommVault, Sepaton and Symantec hosted booths illustrating their great business value oriented solutions.
For a break from the action, we received an education on the power of numbers from Scott Flansburg, The Human Calculator.
All-in-all, it was an amazing event that truly highlighted the importance HDS' Global Systems Integrator partners will have on the way we take our solutions to market and address real customer challenges. Our GSI partners are foundational to HDS' strategy to build a holistic partner ecosystem where we can collaborate and deliver end to end solutions for the business problems of today. Gathering at this event strengthened our bonds and uncovered new integrated solutions that HDS and our GSI partners can offer to you. We are innovating as partners together!
