on Oct 24, 2017I don't see where in the Installation Notes it says that you can install only one of these. The node/server sizing for the two services is different, but that doesn't mean you cannot install both in a cluster of servers, as long as you meet the requirements for CPU, RAM, DISK on the respective nodes.

There is no technical limitation to running both use cases, but in 1.3, initial installation you will have you select one. After the fact, the system can be configured to run both if you have appropriately sized your system and your HCI license permits it. The comment on page 9 still stands, as you initially install with only one use case.
This may change in a future release where initial installation could support deployment of multiple use cases.

Thanks for the clarification Frank. About the licensing, I thought that if the customer purchased HCI license, they could deploy HCM as well. Please confirm.

If a customer purchased an HCI license with enough HCI Cores to run both HCS use case and HCM use cases, that would work. That's what was meant by "your HCI license permits it."
The important thing here is planning out how many HCI Cores you need and what your cluster's hardware will look like. Sizing recommendations are in the installation guide as well.

This installation document stated that HCI could only be installed for one of the two use cases: Hitachi Content Search or Hitachi Content Monitor. Is this a Marketing restriction? Or Technical limitation? If the customer has a multi-node cluster with plenty of CPUs and memory, why couldn't they install/run both Search and Monitor? Please clarify.
