This white paper describes a performance study for Hitachi Unified Compute Platform (UCP) for Oracle Database with the Real Application Clusters option solution. The study, based on a proof of concept conducted for a large financial institution, uses Hitachi Unified Compute Platform 6000 for Oracle Real Application Clusters (UCP 6000 for Oracle RAC), with Hitachi Compute Blade 2500 and Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform G800 with Hitachi Accelerated Flash. lt includes the performance and scalability benefits of this infrastructure for typical online transaction processing (OLTP) and data warehouse workloads.

 

This white paper includes the following:

  • Hitachi Compute Blade 2500 with four CB52OX B3 server blades. Each two CB52OX B3 blades are connected via a two-node SMP connector, and represent one Oracle RAC node.
  • Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform G800 with Hitachi Accelerated Flash
