The Hitachi Healthcare and Life Sciences (HLS) division hosted the December Telecom Council of Silicon Valley’s monthly Deep Dive with a focus on Health/mHealth/eHealth. The event, held at HDS Santa Clara headquarters, featured keynote speaker Dave Wilson, CTO for HLS. Over 85 attendees participated and discussed innovation in Health IT through new technologies, user-friendly network applications and developments in clinical data management and sharing.
Wilson evangelized HDS’ Connected Health story – achieving better patient care and outcomes through social innovation. Connected Health centers on the Hitachi Clinical Repository (HCR), a platform which connects the healthcare enterprise and enables communication across departments, specialties and locations. HCR constitutes the first step to liberate clinical data from siloed applications and unify data-generating systems to obtain insight that leads to operational improvement. The future of healthcare looks promising. As Wilson explains, “Removing the barriers to ubiquitous data access by health organizations is only the first step. Driving towards population health management is the end goal through evidence based medicine and personalized health methodologies.”
Dave Wilson tells the Connected Health story
HLS helps healthcare organizations around the world discover efficient ways to optimize their current data and find ways of connecting trends in healthcare and health technology to deliver products and solutions that increase fitness, improve health outcomes and drive down costs. Connected Health envisions an environment in which patients receive full-value care through the integration of smart devices, sensors, cloud services and cutting-edge diagnosis and treatment of disease.
The Telecom Council of Silicon Valley promotes business innovation by bringing together companies, research, ideas, capital, and human expertise from across the globe. Telecom Council's monthly Deep Dives opens up a discussion forum for over 100 decision-level professionals in a condensed ½ day to facilitate networking and business development.
