10 New UCP 6000 for Oracle RAC systems from HDS

Hitachi Data Systems has a growing portfolio of converged infrastructure solutions for Oracle Database and business application environments. The Hitachi Unified Compute Platform 6000 (UCP 6000) for Oracle Real Application Clusters is built upon our all-flash VSP F800 and G800 storage systems and provides superior performance, high availability, IT efficiency and the best TCO for Oracle environments.

 

The all-flash UCP 6000 for Oracle RAC includes Hitachi’s second-generation flash drives, FMD DC2s, built upon more than 350 patents. Our approach to flash enables our converged and storage systems to deliver higher performance, more effective data compression, and the highest resilience in the industry for Oracle workloads, compared to commodity all-flash converged or storage systems. Our all-flash converged and storage systems come with HDS’ unique 100% data availability guarantee.

 

 

To help our customers better match a right-sized system for their specific Oracle environment and requirements, we have released a set of 10 new UCP for Oracle RAC reference architectures. These new systems combine HDS’ best-in-class compute and storage products as well as unified data protection from Hitachi Data Instance Director. Built upon Oracle Enterprise Linux, these cloud-ready reference architectures have been tested and validated by the HDS Solutions Engineering Lab to provide the capabilities needed to support today’s business demands.

 

UCP 6000 for Oracle RAC with VSP G800 supports multiple tiers of storage including large-capacity HDDs. Customers can benefit from Hitachi Dynamic Tiering which automates data movement between tiers based upon access and usage patterns. It’s a key element to minimize system resource usage to boost database and app performance,  ensure smooth data movement between storage tiers, and optimize your Oracle infrastructure’s utilization.

 

These new UCP 6000 for Oracle RAC systems are available with Hitachi Compute Blade 2500 including both our 520X B3 and 520H B4 server blades which are based on the latest Intel Broadwell (microarchitecture).
